Want to learn how to build robots with JavaScript? Even better, want to team up with kids to build - and then battle - with these robots for ultimate fame and glory?
Then this event is for you!
Simply fill in the form to apply for our special "NodeBots Battle: HourOfCode Edition" to be held at DevFestNYC on Dec 3. Selected applicants will be invited to register with a special promo code to cover the entire team.
We provide all components (robot chassis, motors, wiring, controllers, etc) and walk you though basic tutorials for motion & control. After that, it's all up to you. We're there to help when you need it.
Bring your curiosity and sense of competition & creativity. Decorate your robot then program it to battle other competitors in elimination rounds till only one Ultimate Champion remains.
All participating kids get HourOfCode certificates, bragging rights & the joy of seeing their robots battle it out while cheered on by spectators. There will be prizes for the last robot standing, and for the best designed robot overall.
Most importantly, its a chance to work with kids and excite them about STEM, CS & the fun in problem-solving.
Want to be part of the madness. Sign up on the form below and we will reach out to you with more information on the date, venue & requirements.
ITeam members work together to build and design their own robot. We have craft supplies, glue guns & soldering irons to help you customize your robot to reflect your own personality.
Then get ready to go head-to-head with a competitor robot in the dreaded elimination rounds. The first robot to push the other out of the "ring" wins and makes it to the next round. Till there is only one ultimate survivor.
CSEdWeek happens Dec 4-10, following right after DevFestNYC. It's that time of year where schools, parents and students worldwide participate in the HourOfCode challenge, where they try computer science for (at least) one hour, often by completing a challenge, activity or puzzle by themselves or with peer support.
Because CSEdWeek happens right after DevFestNYC, we decided to get a jump start on that with our own Robotics-themed activity. We expect to have 8-16 teams (max) participate at a time, and may have round-robin style tournaments if we have more participants.
We also encourage attendees to try out one of the other HourOfCode options (codelabs, games etc.) if they are not into robotics. Let's do an Hour of Code together!
